| Caveats |
Below is a listing of caveats for the public health data. |
|
Bureau of Health’s Data Privacy Policy (effective April 15th, 2003) Cell Size - ‘Cells’ refer to the space formed by the intersection of a row and column in a statistical table. In some instances, cells provide very specific information about a limited number of people. This may be especially true when data concerning a certain disease or health issue is described using small geographic units and/or race and ethnicity. Release of such cells can breach confidentiality by inadvertently allowing for the identification of individuals. For this reason, population data in cells containing fewer than five (5) individuals shall not be released by the Bureau of Health. Such cells shall instead be reflected in tables as ‘fewer than 5’ or ‘<5’. Those columns and rows containing cells with fewer than five individuals shall not contain column or row totals.” For this reason, totals for columns and rows containing cells with fewer than five individuals has been “Suppressed” in these tables. |
